Providing you a safe Hot Air Balloon Adventure is our goal.  To accomplish this, we will provide you with safety related instructions prior to your flight.

Pilot Certification
Balloon pilots are certified by the FAA, in the same manner as airplane pilots. Pilots must take formal flight instruction, pass written and practical tests and be re-examined periodically.

Equipment Safety
Balloons are aircraft and, as such, are regulated by the FAA. They must meet manufacturing standards and are subject to periodic inspections, just like a commercial jet liner.

Passenger Instruction
All passengers will be verbally and visually briefed prior to lift off.

Preflight
·
Ask questions.
·

Take pictures.
·

Help if you want and if the Pilot requests your help.

During the flight
·
Do not lean out of the basket.
·

Do not hold onto any hoses or lines.  Handles are placed throughout the basket for your convince.
·

Feel free to ask questions and take pictures.
·
Be alert.  When flying low things like power lines are very hard to see.  If you see anything you think the Pilot the Pilot should avoid, it is OK to point these out.  Your pilot will point out to you during the flight just how hard it is to see some things from the air, like power lines.  During the landing process, it helps your pilot to have everyone looking for obstructions.

 When preparing to land
·
Ask questions when the Pilot briefs you on landing procedures.  Please do not distract the Pilot during the landing process; they are busy flying the aircraft.
·

Face the direction of travel.
·

Hold on with both hands.
·

Keep knees slightly bent and loose.
·

If the wind speed increased during flight the pilot may ask you to lower yourself down in the basket.
·

Do not get out of the basket until the pilot instructs you to do so. The loss of your weight will cause the balloon to go back up.

Post Flight
·
Ask questions.
·

Take pictures.
·

Help if you want and if the Pilot requests your help.
·
 Enjoy the Post Flight Celebration

Your Pilot will review these Safety Procedures with you prior to your flight.  Please pay attention to their instructions, and ask any questions you may have prior to takeoff.
CANCELLATION POLICY
